Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has announced that his government will work with opposition parties to address the fuel crisis, which stems from gas and electricity shortages.

Speaking in the National Parliament on Thursday (September 10), the Prime Minister stated that the government is fully aware of the public suffering caused by the gas and electricity crisis. However, he emphasized that this crisis was not created by the current government but is rather the outcome of the previous administration’s erroneous policies and irregularities.

Tarique Rahman alleged that effective initiatives for gas exploration and drilling new wells in the Bay of Bengal were neglected in the past, with the intention of benefiting a particular neighboring country. He commented that this has further deepened the country’s energy sector crisis.

Regarding national governance and democratic practices, the Prime Minister asserted that the democratic people of the country have high expectations from the National Parliament. Citing examples from various past situations, he highlighted that the BNP has repeatedly helped the nation recover from difficult and disastrous circumstances.

Highlighting the government’s stance, Tarique Rahman expressed the current administration’s desire to work alongside the opposition for the overall welfare of the country and its people. He also stressed the importance of collective initiatives on nationally significant issues, including the fuel crisis.
