Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman extended heartfelt greetings to the countrymen and the Muslim Ummah worldwide on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Adha. In a video message on Wednesday (May 27), he conveyed his Eid greetings, emphasizing sacrifice, self-purification, and humanitarian values.

The Prime Minister stated that Eid-ul-Adha is not merely a festival of animal sacrifice, but it teaches humanity to eliminate greed, envy, hatred, and arrogance from within. He mentioned that the true essence of sacrifice lies in the mindset of self-devotion for the satisfaction of Allah.

He further added that sharing the sacrificial meat with the less fortunate and underprivileged members of society embodies the true beauty of Eid. He urged those who are able to stand by the poor and those unable to perform the sacrifice.

In the video message, Tarique Rahman also urged awareness regarding the proper preservation of sacrificial animal hides and waste management. He stated that alongside cooperating with sanitation workers, everyone should take the initiative to keep their surroundings clean, ensuring a tidy environment on Eid day itself.

He prayed to Almighty Allah for peace, security, and stability for the country, the nation, and the Muslim world. Simultaneously, he expressed his hope for the establishment of peace and harmony globally.

Finally, extending Eid-ul-Adha greetings to the countrymen once more, he said, “Eid Mubarak.”
